EthoStream Announces New Dual WAN Gateway, Dramatically Improving High-Speed Internet Access Reliability
April 11, 2007 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin, EthoStream, LLC, a subsidiary of Telkonet, Inc. (AMEX: TKO) and the

its new dual WAN high-speed Internet access (HSIA) gateway, the EthoStream Gateway Server (EGS)
Pro Dual, that provides redundancy, scalability and load sharing for large, full service hotels, resorts, time-
share properties, multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and government facilities.
The newest member of its EthoStream Gateway Server line of high-speed Internet access (HSIA) gateway
products, the EGS Pro Dual completely eliminates network downtime by accepting two independent ISP
connections, maintaining connectivity in the event that one ISP connection is malfunctioning.
“The EGS Pro Dual is the perfect solution to increase the aggregate bandwidth available to hotel guests,
provide redundancy in case of an ISP failure or outage and distribute an even bandwidth load across two

route all guest traffic through a secondary and functioning WAN connection so that guests continue to

The EGS Pro Dual is the first hospitality HSIA gateway of its kind to accept two wide area network (WAN)
or ISP connections, as current gateway products only accommodate one Internet Service Provider
connection. By allowing access to two disparate Internet connections, the EGS Pro Dual can provide
continuous connectivity when one ISP loses its connection to the Internet. This connectivity redundancy
feature was specifically developed in response to the needs of EthoStream’s full-service hospitality
customers, placing the EGS Pro Dual in a class of its own.
The EGS Pro Dual also enables access to two separate bandwidth sources that can be combined to
create a larger aggregate bandwidth source. For example, with a 3.5Mbps cable modem and a 1.5Mbps
DSL line, you can provide a combined 5 Mbps of bandwidth to your guests at a fraction of the cost of a
single connection at that same speed. In addition to the unmatched scalability feature, it can also provide
critical load-balancing, ensuring that all bandwidth is being utilized to its maximum potential by distributing
all data across both connections evenly.
The EGS Pro Dual is directly integrated into EthoStream’s Remote Management Console (RMC), enabling
centralized management, monitoring and reporting. This integration with EthoStream’s RMC enables
EthoStream Hospitality Network members to view real-time connectivity status of each individual guest
WAN connection, their connection history, amount of traffic passed over each individual connection and
several other management features and abilities.
The RMC integration provides true transparency, as owners can review the ROI on their EGS Pro Dual
purchase on a regular basis. In addition, with the EthoStream Support Center constantly monitoring each
WAN connection proactively and remotely, Internet connectivity may be restored in the event of an ISP
outage prior to adversely impacting guest usage.
